Brighton 1980

Rod Varley is a photographer based in Anglesey, North Wales.

After studying photography and film at Derby he moved to London where he set-up the gallery and cinema at Watermans Arts Centre; in 1988 he was appointed Senior Curator for Film at the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television and was responsible for leading the Pictureville Cinema and Cinerama projects; he went on to set-up Harbour Lights Cinema in Southampton; oversaw the re-opening of The Everyman in Hampstead, and was Managing Director of the Association of Photographers.
